The Wheel of Life

The Wheel of Life is a general coaching tool to get to know the coachee better. In coaching we don’t separate private from work, since what we experience in one part will influence the other. The Wheel of Life is a fast and easy way to get an impression of the level of satisfaction in the 8 segments which together cover the coachee’s whole life.
You’re kindly requested to score all 8 segments on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being ‘not at all satisfied’ and 10 being ‘totally satisfied’.

Your footprint

Whilst travelling through life, we all leave footprints. Please briefly reflect on this below.

  1. Impact: What do you want your impact to be?
  2. Legacy: What do you want to leave behind as gifts for others to benefit from?

Key Values

Our actions are driven by our Values. Your Values represent who you are at this moment. These are principles you highly appreciate. Values are different from ethics and they are not consciously chosen. They are simply an intrinsic part of who you are at your core.
Values are also different from 'standards', or 'the norm' which usually comes from society — they are 'put upon us' by our environment and thus they come from the outside. It is very well possible though that you are serving your Values by respecting certain norms.

In the sessions, we will explore your Values in more depth. In preparation for that, YOU'RE REQUESTED TO CREATE A LIST OF 15-20 VALUES

  • List of 15-20 Values:

You

Coaching is a lot about exploring who you are, what you stand for, what excites you in life, and what your dreams are. Below are some questions to start that process.

  1. What are you passionate about?
  2. What or who brings a smile to your face?
  3. What would you spend your last money on?
  4. What do you dislike? What does it trigger in you?
  5. What’s a dream you have?
  6. What are the Saboteurs you experience most?

Roots

Your roots have a huge impact on how you develop and on what matters to you.
A person’s history tells their story from even before birth up until today. The family you were born into shapes you, such as the environment in which you grew up. The schools you went to, your teachers, the religious practices of your family, and important events, however big or small,  shape us into who and how we are today.
In the box below, please mention things that you feel had an important impact on you. Feel free to elaborate.

  • Roots – History – Family – Environment – Education – Religion - Events
(writing tip: Divide your story into parts of 5 to max 10 years and look at the main things you remember).

Inner Resources and Life Purpose

You may already have an idea about your Inner Resources (a.k.a. Leader Within & Allies) and Life Purpose statement. If so, please share the current version.

Goals

You’re starting coaching to work on some goals. Yes, coaching is working ☺ You’re investing your time and energy in this journey of exploration and discovery so you want some clear results. To get more clarity on why you want to work on the coaching questions, such as those mentioned in 1, please answer the questions below.

  • Coaching Goal 1:
  • What are you aiming for as an end result?

  • Coaching Goal 2:
  • What are you aiming for as an end result?

  • Coaching Goal 3:
  • What are you aiming for as an end result?

  • Additional information about you:
  • What else do you feel is important to know about you?

Additional Information about Me

Just some fun facts I feel like sharing.

On this planet since January 1, 1979. I’m passionate about people and nature is where I recharge my batteries.
I’m fascinated about the power of coaching conversation which I am honouring through my podcast #Beyond One Lens.
I try not to take myself too seriously and strive to be an ‘Imperfectionist’ whilst at the same time take a stand for high professional standards.
